Overview
When exposed to the air, copper naturally oxidyzes. It turns black and then green. In this project, two antique copper tubs were suffering from years of interacting with the oxygen in the air. We managed to clean them up and get these storage units back in a presentable condition.

In Depth
Have you ever looked at an old penny and noticed that it is badly discolored with age? Two copper storage tubs were found in such a condition. Heritage Restoration was tasked with restoring these antiques. We began with some structural work. The worst of the dents were hammered out. Next, our metalworking staff treated the surface with chemicals. With some scrubbing, the treatments restored the copper's original pink surface. The final step in the restoration process was the application of a finish coating to increase the lusture of the surfaces.
Once the work was completed, these restored storage tubs were returned to their owner, where they will last for many more years.
